1stWorks Corporation announces hotComm 3.5 with SuperJava

Sudbury, MA, February 22, 2004 - 1stWorks Corporation today announced the release of hotComm 3.50, the latest update in its sequence of feature rich desktop software clients for secure, spontaneous and scalable multimedia collaboration, conferencing and content delivery.

hotComm 3.50 features SuperJava, powerful new compression technology integrated into hotComm's easy to use browser based Java client. With earlier technology, each screen graphics refresh was a typical transfer of 500K bytes from the Presenter. With improved low level graphics compression, this has been reduced to 70K bytes and now, with hotComm's continuous analysis of successive images to explicitly identify only the differential content, this graphics refresh process has been reduced once again to to a typical transfer of around 7K bytes. Now hotComm Presenter Pro Plus clients can host up to 5 simultaneous SuperJava connections right at their desktop without requiring a presentation room.

In hotComm 3.50, hotComm Lite users can share their hotComm license across multiple machines, just like users of hotComm Standard and hotComm Pro. Simply export your license from the desktop and import a copy to the laptop, then you can use whichever one you have access to. Keep a copy on your office desktop and yet have another copy of your license on your laptop for when you travel.

Timed Camera has been improved with the addition of Timed Region, so the choices for the display area to share have become infinite. Choose either a Timed Application, which will include the menus and controls as well as the content, or Timed Window for just the content inside the application, timed Region enables you to define the upper left corner of the region, then define the lower right corner to select a specific area you wish to share so you can define the region right down to the individual pixel on your screen.

For those hotComm Standard users who typically monitor several room simultaneously, hotComm 3.50 now includes the capability to automatically seek for audio between the rooms as soon as there is a 10 second silence from any of them, Users may lock the audio to any single room and disable this auto seek feature by clicking on the audio speaking button of the preferred presenter.

All hotComm clients are now available with the auto update feature to eliminate time consuming downloads, particularly for those users on slower connections. .Auto-update simply downloads a newer version in background while your connection is otherwise idle which has the effect of the latest version being available to install on command, no more missing the first 30 minutes of trading while waiting on an update.

We will continue to improve the features of hotComm and incorporate the very valuable feedback we receive form our many trader customers.
